At Kiddie Kollege, arts and crafts are far more than a fun way to fill an afternoon. Each squeeze of a glue bottle, snip of safety scissors, and swirl of paint helps young children develop the fine motor skills they’ll later use to write, button shirts, and tie shoes.

Open-ended art also gives children a healthy outlet for self-expression. A toddler who can’t yet describe a big feeling in words can often paint it — and our teachers are trained to listen to what those creations are saying.

We rotate weekly themes that connect art projects to what children are learning in circle time, so a lesson on autumn might become a leaf-rubbing collage, and a Bible story might inspire a stained-glass tissue paper window. The result is learning that sticks — because children made it with their own two hands.
